As we approach the Christmas season and the closing weeks of 2010, I am reminded…that I have a blog; a blog I have all but abandoned as I continue to seemingly remove myself from the electronic ether (it’s all about Facebook these days, but let’s see how long it takes this post to actually show up there).
It’s been over a year living back in Osaka, over a year being married and, all things considered, it’s all good. I live a blessed life and, apart from recent problems with my ISP, have little to complain about (as much as I may occasionally attempt to convince myself otherwise). If I were one prone to making new year’s resolutions (which I am not), I guess I would make it a goal to get back into learning another language, but we all know how such endeavours tend to end up…though we can always hope.
I do have a list of interesting projects keeping me busy, some of a business nature and others of a personal one. Should developments in any of these be worthy of mentioning, I will certainly be sure to do so here in some manner. I will make quick mention of two of the new toys I’ve acquired recently:
Unfortunately Takako and I will be unable to join our family in Canada for the holidays this year, though we anticipate visiting for a special event in 2012, at the very latest. We will, however, be making a short and sudden trip to Paris, France. Actually, Takako is there already, part of a business trip, and I (not one to pass up new and romantic travel opportunities) will be joining here there later this week.
In the very limited amount of time we have together in Paris, we plan to visit key sites, such as the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, and possibly the catacombs. In something of a business capacity, I’ll also be spending a day at the CARTES & IDentification convention. I’ll be sure to post any pictures from our visit on…you guessed it…Facebook.
With that, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years.
With Hope,
Joseph
