Greetings and salutations!

I do realize it's been a long time since my last post, but I figure if I can squeeze in an update at least once a month I'm doing ok *S* Lots to talk about, so let's get to it...

Amazon.ca Picks
Featured DVD: Blade Trinity
Featured CD: Get Lifted - John Legend
Featured Book: The Secret Teachings of all Ages - Manly Hall

In the News
Of course, many things have happened in the last month, so I won't attempt to comment on them. It seems there's something major happening in the world on a daily basis - thanks to the advent of mass media distribution and 24 hour news access...

In Canada - The ridiculous Gomery inquiry into the Federal Sponsorship Scandal continues, building election rhetoric as it if mattered or anyone really cared.

In the United States - A runaway bride evades prosecution while a woman with a severed finger gets caught in her own lies. John Muhammad gets the death penalty for his role in the Washington sniper murders.

In the World - Slow progress continues in the Middle East as nuclear fears build over Iran and North Korea. A new pope, Benedict XVI, is elected to lead the Holy Catholic Church and Tony Blair survives by the skin of his teeth, taking the British Labour Party to a record setting third straight majority government.

In Entertainment
In Cinema - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy proved to be one of the strangest movies I've ever seen. Ultimate it seemed undecided over whether it was a comedy or a sci fi pic. Sam Rockwell was hilarious. The movie is quite well done and certainly entertaining. Constantine is the best movie I have seen so far this year, and it looks like even more great films are on their way - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Kingdom of Heaven, Batman Begins, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and so on.

It's here at last! The teaser trailer for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe!

On DVD - While Blade II remains my favorite of the series, Blade Trinity is a close second. The vampires are ugly and simple but the soundtrack kicks ass and Ryan Reynolds steals the show!

In My Life
Lots to report personally. May will be an exceptionally busy month. First announcements - congrats go out to Beckka Perdue on the birth of her baby boy, and to Kira Perdue on her second pregnancy! Along those lines, happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. To close out the occasion bulletin, Happy Birthday to my sister (May 9) and my dad (May 15). Congrats to my brother for completing his second round at SAIT.

May 15th is also the Global Day of Prayer. In Calgary, over 10,000 people are expected to gather at the Saddledome to join 200 Million Christians across the globe in what promises to be an earth shaking event. People across the whole world, connected by Internet video feeds, will cry out for their nations in an unprecedented show of unity and repentance. If you are a person of faith, I strongly urge you to take part in this crucial event.

The next day I am headed off for a week in Los Angeles to attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which will be an absolute blast! I'll be attending Dear Friends: More Music from Final Fantasy, with Nobuo Uematsu - a symphony concert at the Universal Amphitheatre Monday night!

A few days after returning from E3, I'll be going under the knife to try for the second time in order to get my nose fixed. I just got tired of not being able to breathe or smell properly, and am hopeful this attempt will be successful. I also hope for a quick recovery as I'll be heading to B.C. shortly after, to visit family.

So, as I mentioned, lots happening and I'll be sure to keep you posted! On house cleaning items, still waiting on the story poll (see box in left menu). Also, if any of you out there in cyberspace would like to link to Patmos or Shadows, that would be great! Anyway I hope all is well - and now you've been brought up to speed. For something more entertaining, listen to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy's entry on Blogging!

With Hope,
Joseph
