Greetings and salutations!

So Far Away from the Real

I'm very excited that one of my favorite novels, Anne Holm's I Am David has been made into a motion picture starring Jim Caviezel. Check out the

Something Else

I was standing on a street corner waiting for the light to change, something I did most every day. As I stood there, a shadow passed in front of me, and I looked up into the aged, worn, face of an old man. I caught a far away look in his eyes and I saw myself as a boy years ago, a youthful grin on my face. But then the face I saw began to change. Weighed down by the cares of this world it grew weary and broken, deep wrinkles formed and that youthful smile was replaced with a disheartening grimace. I gasped in shock as I recognized my face was that of the man in front of me. Now he just stood there, staring back into my eyes and waiting for something. I wanted to ask his name, to find out where he had come from, but the words would not come. As he turned to leave he whispered to me, and I knew then who he was. He said his name...was time.

We have built our world on fantasy. We have come to depend on chasing fantasies of love, hope, joy, success, and fulfillment. Often, the fantasies alone are enough to drive us to continue living, but the possibility that such fantasies can actually be realized, this is what truly moves us, what "gets us up in the morning." There is, of course, nothing wrong with this *S*

With Hope,
Joseph
