Greetings and salutations!
I have seen them in the distance, watched them stare back at me in the cold. I have been both comforted and frightened by their clarity. I have found comfort in their shadows of love and loss, hopelessness and hapiness for an eternity. They have sought after me and mean to hold me captive, and I run from them longing to surrender.
But I alone have heard their cries in the dark. Only I have listened to the chorus of their broken hearts. For ages and epochs I have watched them fall to ruin. But now my soul is stirred up, and I have been pricked by their calls, their grieved supplications. And I, only I who hear, only I who can respond, am rising up. I am rising on the winds and will come to the aid of those in such desperate need.
