To further clarify what this place hopes to accomplish, sometimes I will post actual bits of fiction. Other times the post will simply be a synopsis, a character outline, or some other form of information pertaining to a story. I hope to include an automated polling system in the future, but for now you may simply email me your thoughts, suggestions, and votes if you are so inclined. So, just for an example, I submit the following:
Exhibit A
When I left I was quite sure it was for the last time. My destination was not one of fond farewells and returns to loved ones. Now that I had in fact come back, it was all too strange, all too lonely. She looked at me, and only for that fleeting moment, yet her pale eyes pierced me for an eternity, I felt a stirring in the depths of my soul such as I had never experienced, and I was afraid as she walked into the night.
Exhibit B
I remember distinctly, the cotton candy flavour of her lips as they met mine. She smelled of lavendar and honey, and her hair draped over my face as light as satin. I had lost myself hours, days before this even began, when I first saw her on that stage, and now I held her in my quaking arms as her wandering tongue explored my mouth.
Exhibit C
Lying in wait he watches his enemies march by, lost in the roar of the blood to his fingers, clutching tightly the blade that with one swing will secure his destiny. A bead of sweat runs down his forehead, but a drop of the burden chained 'bout his soul, dipping lower as seconds tick by, seconds assembling the very definition of his, until this moment, uneventful life.
The moment was approaching and he knew it. He wasn't even in control of his body or his mind anymore. Nothing could change what had to happen. He would rush and attack, striking at the throat of his enemy, and then he would die, and it would at last be over. The drum beats grew louder, and he readied himself for the leap.
With Hope,
Joseph
